Happy Wheels has been released just as the devastating, blasphemous demise of Flash is imminent. That was truly a nerve-wracking experience. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope the anxiety over losing Happy Wheels hasn’t kept you awake at night. If you weren’t aware that this game was in development, here’s some exciting news for you. As this is the game’s first public release, please bear with us as we work out any remaining bugs.
Although I still prefer the Flash version, what I appreciate about this iteration is its excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, this version does not include on-screen controls for mobile gameplay, but they will be added in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try it out on your phone sooner, a Bluetooth keyboard will work very well.
While I initially stated that the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels appear noticeably slower at that frame rate. Fortunately, this setting can be adjusted, and I may host a version running at 60 Hz on a separate page for users with high-performance CPUs. Overall, Happy Wheels JS aims to faithfully replicate the original in both design and gameplay. The database of users, levels, and replays remains unchanged since the original release. The only thing lost is the impending doom of the universe’s end.
